Toddler Stroller

How to Buy a Toddler Stroller

It is quite easy to find a baby stroller; however, finding a toddler stroller can be a big chore for many parents. It can really be tough to find a stroller for your 4, 5, or 6-year old child, especially a stroller that fits your child and is easy to maneuver and push. If you want some help, then here’s a guide on how you find the right toddler stroller for your child.

Toddler Stroller that is a Jogging Stroller

If you have a 5- or 6-year old child, then go for a jogging stroller. Jogging strollers are specifically made to hold and carry larger kids unlike regular strollers that are specifically made for babies. Don’t forget to check the weight limit of the jogging toddler stroller to make sure it can hold your child. Just be aware though that these strollers are relatively expensive.

When choosing a toddler stroller, it is important to base your choice on the weight and not the age. There are some 5 to 6 year old kids who weigh under 40 pounds, which can still be accommodated by a regular stroller. Thus, it is a good idea to check the weight limit or maximum weight both regular and toddler strollers can hold.

Make Sure the Toddler Stroller is Easy to Use

Buy a toddler stroller that can lift your child in and out easily. If you are buying a stroller for a big toddler or an older child, make sure the stroller is comfortable and easy enough to lift your child in and out. Never buy a stroller with uncomfortable handle bars.

Find a toddler stroller with a seat belt that will fit an older or big child. It is a good idea to take your child with you when you buy one and let him/her try the stroller to check if the seat belt really fits. Don’t forget that your child needs a seat belt to keep him/her secured. It’s even a better idea to get one with seat belt allowance and adjustment as kids grow fast. The last thing you want is to buy a stroller that will no longer fit your child in a month’s time.

Testing a Toddler Stroller

Take your child to amusement parks and test out strollers for rent there. Most amusement parts rent strollers. You can try three or more models to find and check out models that will work best for your child. If you find one, then buy the same model of toddler stroller.
